It is looking out towards the Goyt Valley.
Notice the old Drystone wall situated along side parts of the fence

Your photo brings back some great memories, Dave. A friend and I did a coast to coast walk of England's Lake District a few years ago. Started on the Irish Sea side at Newby Bridge and ended up at Whitby on North Sea. Remember walking through fields like this and climbing over many fences!
