One Golf Course and three Woodpeckers

Keene NH
While spending a few days with friends last summer during a holiday to New England I was able to Spend a couple of evenings walking the Brentwood Golf Course to do a spot of birding.
Plenty of smart birds around such as Eastern Bluebirds, Belted Kingfisher and Grey Catbird but I was particularly pleased to see three Woodpecker species.

Downy Woodpecker

Yellow Bellied Sapsucker

Northern Flicker

  2. Woodpeckers are great - we dont have any at all in Australia, so I always like finding them when I am away from Oz.

  3. You did indeed see three great species. When you go back there again you'll be looking for others......Hairy, Red-bellied, Pileated, Red-headed perhaps......
