Its a Gull day..... or Bfbs contribution to World Bird Wednesday XII

I really have been unable to get out with the camera over the last week, partly due to sending it in for a sensor clean and partly due to my shift pattern.... anyway I thought a selection of gulls would be a fine contribution to WBW XII.
Lesser Black Backed, Greater Black Backed and Hering gulls are on display below. Some of the images are from in and above my garden, some are from the coast, and as you can see one has ice cream around its chops (can you spot it??) .....

I hope no one is offended by the Greater Black Backed Gull drowning the young Coot.... they really are a beast of a bird and an efficient preditor.

Beautiful images Dave I love the flight shots so sharp.

An interesting variety of gulls. Most gulls seem to be aggressive and quarrelsome - at least the ones I am familiar with.

Super series Dave. Gulls seem to be a popular feature this week.

Fantastic. Boy, do you know how to light a bird photograph or what? I am a big fan of your work. And you know what? I find the amorality of the animal kingdom rather refreshing! Bravo!

Superb set of gulls Dave.
That's one lot of birds I always have trouble with the ID's.

Well everyone, thanks for the kind comments. I just think that the often maligned Gull gets a raw deal, but they are often very photogenic creatures, yes its nice having good light but seeing a Gull in flight against a slaty grey sky can be breathtaking. WBW has opened up a whole new world of blogging for me, other peoples sites that I would never have found.... there is inspiration to be gleened from everyone.

Keep sharing the great subjects
