Two owls species, two trees, two hundred yards apart

A local patch that provides two species of Owl within a few hundred yards of each other.

A pair of Little Owls are quite conspicuous and fairly cooperative, while a Tawny Owl is certainly inconspicuous as it roosts outside its nest hole.

Any experience with owls is an event to remember. I have seen numerous Little Owls in the UK and in Croatia, but a Tawny Owl only once. I was walking through a meadow adjacent to a small woodland on a visit to the UK and the crows were kicking up a tremendous racket and they drove the Tawny Owl out of a tree right in front of me.

I know those two owls and those two trees. I get similar pictures Dave. They're not one's for making it easy for us.

It is always a pleasure to discover some of these species of nocturnal raptors, for me they are still a pending subject. Congratulations Dave
