Male Sparrowhwk from this morning. He usualy pops in most weeks but has a poor success rate in my garden due to the fact that the position of my feeders give the small birds plenty of cover to retreat to. The images dont show the squirrel that was a few yards away in the same tree that had frozen with fear, its a good job the larger female wasnt sat in wait.
All the images are poor as they were taken from inside the house and this mornings weather was particularly murky and wet

The bottom image really shows the Hawk off well. I can only imagine the fear of the squirrel. This size hawk does not usually take them, but then what does the squirrel understand about that part of the deal... I cleaned up a mess in garden this morning. Saw a Cooper's Hawk retreating after serving itself a meal of a male Cardinal...nature at it's best~
Wow, I would freeze in fear if this guy was looking at me! That is one magnificent hawk!
Awesome!! The squirrel knows TO be STILL, very clever!!! A red Shouldered Hawk is nesting in a very tall tree by my feeders I hear her sqwaking every morning now...she comes in and out so fast I cant get a good shot of her, but I will keep trying!!
Cool Series and awesome captures of the Hawk!
They really have such incredible eyes!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
