Just managed to get onto this mouse like fella before it  flew off to another tree. Not particularly sharp as it was in the shade and handheld, but this image shows it off well enough.

Laughing Gull

Laughing Gull (1st Winter): My second trip to see this bird on the Wirral, this time it gave much closer views. Even though it was barely daylight this image isn't too bad. Normally this Gull should be in Central America, South America & the Caribbean areas.



 





Long Eared Owl

Certainly my best ever view of the brilliant species. Even though it was tucked way back in a large hawthorn bush it was visible with the naked eye once you got your eye in.  Was able to watch it sit comfortably preening and it didn't take any notice of the trains that were passing close by behind it. Anyway I rattled off 20 or so shots and this is about the best I was ever going to get.

An hour before I picked up my #1232 life bird with a 1st winter Laughing Gull at New Brighton.

A foxes tail.....

So we have at least a few Foxes feeding in the garden.

As in a previous post we have a rather poorly Fox that is suffering with Sarcoptic Mange. We are trying to catch this one and get it some medical attention. Below is a short clip which shows that at least it hasn't deteriorated from its first sighting a few weeks ago and importantly it is eating. I put water out as well to help beat off dehydration that it will suffer. The food I am putting out does have drops of medication on it so hopefully even if we don't catch the fox, it will be receiving some sort of treatment.... lets hope it works.

A bit of a surprise was this fine looking fella that came to feed.
