Creatures of the night

Badgers and Foxes visit every evening looking for scraps. I only put the trail cam out once a week or so and usually capture video footage. I set it on stills last night and got this shot of them together.

Badger wins every time and takes absolutely no notice of the nervous Fox.

A tale of old Bridge No.16

Hagg Bank swing bridge as it was known
This picture is from between 1900-1909

It is now known as Bridge No.16

One of our local walks takes in the Poynton section of the Macclesfield Canal and this particular bridge.

Bridge No.16 is contructed of stone and iron and takes a path towards the moorlands of Lyme Park. We do this walk at least once a fortnight. The manually operated Swing bridge has long gone but the stone and Iron structure is still very eye catching.

Hibernation over... Spring has sprung

one of the resident Field Mice made an appearance this week when it turned up on the bird feeders. We have probably two families resident in the garden of which one lives under the back door step. The Field Mouse is sightly bigger than a Blue Tit and it made sure that it had first serving as the Blue Tits queued up waiting for it to leave. Spring is here

Masked Shrike - SW Turkey

Continuing the theme of my Turkey apartment garden visitors here is the Masked Shrike. Last year we were lucky enough the have a pair with a youngster. They disapeared during the day but came back to the same bush every evening before the sun set.
