Hagg Bank swing bridge as it was known
This picture is from between 1900-1909
It is now known as Bridge No.16
One of our local walks takes in the Poynton section of the Macclesfield Canal and this particular bridge.
Bridge No.16 is contructed of stone and iron and takes a path towards the moorlands of Lyme Park. We do this walk at least once a fortnight. The manually operated Swing bridge has long gone but the stone and Iron structure is still very eye catching.

Very unique and attractive that old bridge accentuated by that winter atmosphere. Regards Dave
Beautiful Old bridge. I love old structures like that. Makes you wonder about their history. Thanks for sharing
If the bridge could talk, there would be stories to be told! You will have to photograph the waterfowl, Dave. I remember seeing a Moorhen nesting at the side of a busy canal, during my last visit to the UK. There were all manner of pleasure barges going up and down, but she sat tight, seemingly undeterred by the traffic.
Great images of what is a very tasteful replacement for a swing bridge, Dave, but far less fun! Possibly not when it's snowing, however.
Stay safe - - - Richard
I love your bird header! I always photograph bridges too. My favorite are the massive railroad bridges.
Thank you everyone
