With a trip abroad looming, again I have not found the time to get out and about, however even the extra chores couldnt stop me snapping away for a few images......
The Blue Tit in flight was a nice bonus as the momentarily clear sky gives a lovely backdrop for the translucent wings, of course you are all used to my Lesser Redpoll images by now.... Yes they are still here in great numbers as is the Mealy Redpoll that will soon be departing our shores and heading back north.... For the record it has been here for 78 consecutive days.
The Siskin numbers are now increasing..... a garden record count of 12 today.

Love that Bluetit with open wings!! All of these are excellent shots!! Your Pine siskin males have more yellow that what I see here...they soon will be headed out of here and going north for breeding.
Great photos Dave. I think Siskins have been having a very good year as their numbers on garden feeders seem high everywhere. And I'd love to have a Mealy Redpoll in my garden. Very lucky.
Brilliant shots! I have never seen such a Black Bird, it's awesome.
Beautiful shots Dave.
Good to see the Mealy and Lesser side by side like that for comparison.
Interersting Dave. Why is she a lesser and the other a mealy? Why not a RedPoll and a Mealy RedPoll? Great photos, nevertheless. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada. I'm posting Northern RedPolls, formely Common RedPolls.
Beautiful images Dave. Redpoll and Siskin are still to visit my garden. At least while I am watching.
I love them all! Superb post Dave:)
Fantastic pictures. Do you use a blind near the feeders? These are wonderful.
The Blue Tit is a fantastic capture and somehow overshadows the other photos which in themselves are great shots too.
Where are you heading off to?
All nice photos but the Blue Tit is really fantastic.
I continue to find the Redpolls enchanting. I like the outspread wings on the Blue Tit, but am wondering what is that dark shape it carries on its belly.
Nice series of lovely shots! Neat capture of the leucistic Blackbird!
Your small bird photography is great. I find your lighting and backgrounds excellent. But what really knocks me out is the small bird in flight shot. The toughest picture to take hands down.IMHO Bravo!
